The
Texas Roadhouse chain has 125 locations in 28
states but it feels like a family operation.
There were some good signs before I stepped
in the door. The parking lot was full and there
was a pretty long line. If a restaurant isn't’t
crowded on Friday or Saturday night in Clear
Lake, something's wrong. Bay Area Restaurant
goers are a discriminating bunch!
Inside, the staff was friendly and the line
moved quickly. They offer whole roasted peanuts
to keep you busy while you wait. (just throw
the shells on the floor) After being seated,
and scanning the menu, I found the prices to
be very reasonable. I started off with the best
Caesar salad I have had in a long time. If anyone
can find a better salad than this please let
me know!
Next, I had to try the Cactus Blossom (fried
onion), which was very tasty. The main
course was the Dallas Filet, an 8-ounce filet
Minot, which are hand cut, specially aged grain
fed beef. This was an excellent steak
equal to the best in the Clear Lake Area. I
highly recommend The Texas Road House for your
dining pleasure. Recommend getting there
early or expect a wait.
